Hamster Kombat Users Phished. Scammers and other bad actors prey on Hamster Kombat players to cash in on the game’s massive popularity. One of the most popular mobile games, Hamster Kombat, played on the Telegram platform, is the subject of phishing attempts. In these types of attacks, con artists use psychological manipulation to get their targets to do things that benefit themselves.

Cybersecurity company Kaspersky just discovered the phishing attacks, security expert Olga Svistunova reports. Our staff has discovered several scams involving Hamster Kombat, she said. One scam uses phishing links requesting Telegram login credentials to entice victims with the promise of exchanging in-game money for rubles.

According to Svistunova, once hackers obtain users’ credentials, they can start stealing data, blackmailing them, or sending fake messages from their accounts. Although the Russian market is the primary focus of this scam, international con artists may use the same tactics to entice victims.

After just 81 days, Hamster Kombat has 239 million users, making it one of the most popular mobile games ever. According to Pavel Durov, founder of Telegram, the clicker game attracts four to five million new users daily, making it one of the world’s fastest-growing digital services.

Phishing websites are another method that conspirators employ to deceive customers into divulging their cryptocurrency wallet details. These websites promise to offer discounted Hamster Bitcoin products.

Following its pre-market launch on Bybit on July 8, the Hamster Kombat (HMSTR) coin has been gaining popularity since its introduction. According to the cybersecurity company, Con artists allegedly steal people’s Bitcoin through “fraudulent commission payments” and create fake websites that pretend to supply customers with free coins.

Crypto Hacking and Phishing Affect the Industry

The Bitcoin industry is seeing repeated hacking and Hamster Kombat Users’ Phished attempts, causing its credibility to suffer. 785 hacks and exploits have been responsible for the theft of about $19 billion worth of digital assets in the thirteen years since the first confirmed crypto breach on June 19, 2011. The 2019 Plus Token scam, in which dishonest individuals stole $2.9 billion worth of Bitcoin and Ether, is still the most significant cryptocurrency theft ever.

Phishing scams are another growing concern, particularly on some of the recently produced blockchains. For instance, the number of phishing attacks on Base grew by 1,900% in March compared to January, which increased 18 times the amount of cryptocurrency taken in this manner.
